The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio's R.I.S.E. High School Retreat (Respect, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Empathy) is a gathering of high school students who will spend 2 ½ days exploring topics of diversity and inclusion through experiential activities and discussions. Our R.I.S.E. Retreat occurred April 18th – April 20th, 2024, with the theme of ACTIVISM: Student Change-Makers.
Through interactive workshops and team-building activities, our students:
- Practiced effective problem solving, collaboration, and leadership.
- Identified instances of prejudice and examined biased behavior or beliefs.
- Built relationships with young people from different backgrounds.
- Shaped conflict resolution, self-awareness, and relationship skills.
Our R.I.S.E. High School Retreat provides young people with life-changing experiences, fostering respect, integrity, and self-empowerment.
