The ACT program can help.

The Diversity Center’s flagship program, ACT – Action and Awareness for Change Teams, is a comprehensive in-school program that meets monthly with students to talk about different “isms” (racism, ableism, sexism, classism, etc.) and how these systems intersect.

• ACT is designed for groups of up to 30 students in order for the Diversity Center staff to build safe and transparent relationships with students
• Each program begins with a session on building common language around general diversity topics, continues with specific sessions on an aspect of diversity, and ends with a conversation on the action oriented question "now what?"
• Teams meet to plan events for their school and tackle the issues that are most important in their community
• ACT schools attend workshops and events with students from other schools at The Diversity Center Fall and Spring conferences and retreats
• The Diversity Center offers ACT Year Two and Year Three, which expand from the Year One sessions onto topics such as religion, heterosexism, ageism, body image, culture, and immigration

CMSD Programming

The Diversity Center is currently bringing diversity and inclusion programs to ALL CMSD students and educators at no charge.

This offer includes, all initiatives within the ACT program, inluding the Fall High School Retreat and the Fall Middle School Conference.
